Police are searching for a suspect who assaulted a Berks County woman while burglarizing her home.

The victim told officers that Luis A. Alicea, 25, threatened her over the phone before hitting her car with a metal pole and breaking into her home around 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, West Reading police said.

Once inside, Alicea broke items, grabbed the victim's phone, and threw it to the ground, police said. Then he shoved the victim, punched her in the face, grabbed her hair, and pushed her to the ground before kicking her in the face, the victim claims.

Alicea fled the scene before police arrived, they said. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of burglary, terroristic threats, simple assault, simple trespass, defiant trespass, criminal mischief, and harassment, police said.
